I’m Suraiya Begum, a 32-year old widow from Patuakhali. I was earning on 3,000 BDT monthly, doing occasional household work to feed my three children. Bangali Foundaiton’s Women’s Ecomonic Empowerment Program gave me a dairy cow that changed everything. Within six months, I built my own farming business from home, and now I earn around 15,000 BDT monthly. I have also hired two other women from my village. From a struggling widow, I have become a respected entrepreneur in my community.
