Food Packages Distribution

Food Security & Nutrition

20 jan,2026

The Food Package Distribution campaign provides standardized packages of essential, non-perishable food items to families facing food insecurity.

About This Project

Each package contains rice, lentils, oil, salt, and fortified flour—calculated to support an average family for 7, 15, or 30 days, addressing both emergency needs and chronic poverty.

Why This Project Matters

  • Approximately 24% of Bangladesh’s population experiences food insecurity.
  • Economic shocks and climate disasters disrupt food access.
  • Poor families must choose between food and other necessities (medicine, education).
  • Malnutrition affects children’s development and learning.
  • Seasonal employment gaps leave families without income for food.

Project Goals

  • Alleviating acute food insecurity among vulnerable populations.
  • Providing nutritionally balanced staple foods.
  • Freeing up limited household income for healthcare and education.
  • Preventing hunger-related health crises.
  • Building community resilience during economic or climate shocks.

Who Will Benefit

  • Families below the poverty line.
  • Day laborers with irregular income.
  • Widows and single-parent households.
  • Landless agricultural workers.
  • Flood, cyclone, or disaster-affected families.
  • Rohingya refugees in Arakan camps.
